| EL ALMA NO MIDE ... | THE SOUL DOES NOT MEASURE ... |
| Carlos Barbarito | trans. Stefan Beyst |
|
¿A qué o a quién semeja? |
The soul does not measure, does not signify. The body measures but does not last, it signifies soft stone, earth that does not shelter What or whom does it resemble? It moves, all nails, and eyes, and nails, to something dark and remote and does not know that at the most distant end of the world, of what was a forest there remains hardly a decomposed, decaying leaf. |
